1 Peter 4:12
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial (purÅsis) when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.
Revelation 18:8-9
8 For this reason her plagues will come in a single day, death and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for mighty is the Lord God who has judged her.â
9 And the kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, will weep and wail over her when they see the smoke of her burning (purÅsis).
Itâs interesting that the same Greek word for the phrase ârefining fireâ (purÅsis) that test, proves, and purifies the people of God in order to bear His image in purityâŠ.is the same fire (purÅsis) that judges the Babylonian harlot who sits as a queenâŠ
Revelation 18:7
As she glorified herself and lived in luxury, so give her a like measure of torment and mourning, since in her heart she says, âI sit as a queen, I am no widow, and mourning I shall never see.â
There is a continual burning judgment of fire that purifies us to be a bride; a chase virgin church making herself ready for the Bridegroom; not a harlot who has many lovers.
Judgment must begin in the house of God to purify her from the hooks of harlotry so she may be a burning bride and sacred space where judgment can flow from by being an embodied witnesses of deliverance from the harlot who sits as a queen in false garments (1 Peter 4:17).
When Jesus the Refiner sits, the harlot queen is unseated. The refiner purifies us continually of harlotry to idols we worship because we have done seen and heard him rightly (Malachi 3:4-5).
The prophetic witness of the church is a refining fire that unseats Babylon from our hearts. Thatâs why she kills the prophetsâŠ.not for what they say, but the witness of Jesus they carry. The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of Prophecy that says âCome out of herâ.
This is the prophetic reformation we need. There isâŠI believe an increasing fire from Jesus the Baptizer to refine us a gold and silver. When Jesus sits within us, he is enthroned as the Lamb King. His cruciform nature refines, and purges our imaginations to reset, refine, and reform us through Cruciformity.
Revelation 18:23
and the light of a lamp will shine in you no more, and the voice of bridegroom and bride will be heard in you no more, for your merchants were the great ones of the earth, and all nations were deceived by your sorcery.
Revelation 19:10
Then I fell down at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, âYou must not do that! I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God.â For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
